Do you enjoy a leisurely countryside walk taking time to appreciate the natural world in all its beauty? Then the Northamptonshire Shamblers is the walking group for you. Our pace is that of the slowest walker and we aim to finish our walks as a group.
Our group started up in 2005 and enjoy not only the social atmosphere of walks of five miles or less in Northamptonshire and beyond, but also the beautiful countryside this county has to offer with its stone villages and churches, which has been described as the Cotswolds without the coaches!
Our walks, led by a Walk Leader, are circular and start off and finish at a pub or café, and we have the option to stay for lunch afterwards (must be pre-booked with the Secretary).
We meet up on the third Sunday of each month (except December) at about 10am ready to start walking at 10.30am. Also, from May to September we include a 3 mile walk on the first Thursday of the month, meeting up at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Newcomers are always welcome and can turn up on the day of the walk – we ask just £2 towards our public liability insurance. Full annual membership starts from August and is currently £8.
If you would like to join us for any of our walks and would like more information please feel free to contact Ruth Emmerson at firstname.lastname@example.org
For information on forthcoming walks, please select ‘Walk Program’ from the menu above.
We are covered for damages we may do to crops, etc but do not carry personal injury/accident insurance for members.
At the start of each walk, those taking part are asked to sign a register which confirms that they are fit and able to participate in the walk.
